Deadman's Cross

This Square Enix gem is is a zombie-themed collectible Magic The Gathering-like card battle RPG. Like with all Square Enix games, the story its quite interesting: sixteen years in the future, the zombie apocalypse is a reality. A rampant virus (couldn't have been any other way, right?) turns all of those its infects into The Walking Dead©. Your job? Easy! Survive the zombie outbreak on the streets of New Livingston and collect as many survivors as you can.

You start with a high-powered rifle (that's right!) The interesting part its that this game is a mix of FPS and card game, where you have to use your cards on your team mates to provide them with better attacks and powers. This is a very interesting twist to a very well known gameplay (collectible card game) and it works like charm. The small indie studio commissioned this by SquareEnix did an impressive work, not only on the graphics department but on the sound and gameplay as well.

The game offers in-app purchases, like most games, but it is possible to advance without buying a thing, although is not recommended since it takes the fun out of the it and you will miss the opportunity to support the indie studio SquareEnix hired to develop the game.
